Chapter Update, Late September
All,
I know it has been a while since I have sent out a newsletter regarding what the active chapter has been up to, so I wanted to send out some updates. I also know that homecoming week is an email-heavy time period for things related to Alpha-Sigma, so I'll be as brief as possible.
We are in the middle of a solid stretch, a result of our summer planning coming to fruition. We hosted two blood drives this month. We did a large community outreach at the start of school with continuing our dorm move in community service. Our second annual puppy run was a great success, with raising nearly $1,000 for the shelter and finding around 15 pups a new home. Our grade report from last term is in and we have beat the all men's average by a healthy margin, the 7th semester in a row. We have brought the "Its Our Fight Too" campaign to combat sexual assault on campus, this campaign began on the East Coast and we are all in on being behind it and are planning on expanding it to IFC and Ohio State. We are rapidly approaching Military Heroes Ball, which is shaping up, based on our preliminary fundraising numbers, to be a huge success. Please consider attending or donating still, we will not stop until the event on October 7th. Link is below. As I've stressed in previous emails this event is a renewed commitment to philanthropy, and we would love your participation in its success. We plan to continue this positive momentum going forward into the remainder of the semester.
The chapter is looking forward to the many of you coming into town for homecoming, seeing the progress of renovations at 1842 Indianola, and enjoying the best part of OSU, gameday. I know Walt has been communicating plans from the alumni association end and is working with our alumni relations chair and they will keep all informed of events and happenings for the weekend related to the chapter.
